NDRC: National output of ten non-ferrous metals up 0.5% year-on-year in Jan-July

According to the NDRC website, in July, the country's ten non-ferrous metal production increased by 0.7% year-on-year, and the growth rate fell by 8.6 percentage points year-on-year. Among them, copper production increased by 9.6%, the growth rate was flat year-on-year; electrolytic aluminium production decreased by 1.5%, compared with an increase of 14.2% in the same period last year; lead production increased by 4.5%, compared with a decline of 2.4% in the same period last year; zinc production increased by 0.4%, compared with a decline of 2.9% in the same period last year.   

From January to July, the country's ten non-ferrous metal production 29.63 million tonnes, an increase of 0.5% year-on-year, the growth rate fell 8.9 percentage points year-on-year. Among them, copper production of 4.75 million tons, an increase of 7.9%, a drop of 1.2 percentage points; electrolytic aluminium production of 17.98 million tons, a decline of 1.9%, the same period last year for a growth of 12%; lead production of 2.48 million tons, an increase of 7.1%, the same period last year for a decline of 3.9%; zinc production of 3.53 million tons, a decline of 0.7%, the same period last year for a growth of 10.4%. Alumina production of 33.68 million tonnes, down 0.6%, the same period last year for an increase of 12%.   

Prices of major non-ferrous metals rebounded compared with the previous month. in July, the average price of copper and lead futures for the month on the Shanghai Futures Exchange was RMB 36,500 per tonne and RMB 12,885 per tonne respectively, up 2.8% and 0.9% compared with the previous month, and down 13% and 1.9% year-on-year; electrolytic aluminium and zinc were RMB 12,541 per tonne and RMB 15,800 per tonne respectively, up 1.5% and 5.6% compared with the previous month, and up 0.3% and 1.6%.
