Sound barrier perforation
Perforated sound barriers are mainly divided into two types of holes: louvered holes and round holes. The perforation type we often see in highways, neighbourhoods and factories is dominated by louvre holes.
The noise reduction effect is better for high-frequency sound greater than 2000Hz than for medium-frequency sound of about 800-1000Hz, but for low-frequency sound of about 25Hz, the noise reduction effect is better due to the longer wavelength of sound wave. But for the low frequency sound around 25Hz, the effect is poor because the sound wavelength is long and it is easy to bypass from the top of the barrier. Usually, the sound barrier can reduce the high frequency sound by l0-15dB. The height of the sound barrier can be designed according to the distance between the sound source and the reception point, doubling the height of the sound barrier, the noise reduction can be increased by 6dB, in order to make the noise reduction effect of the noise barrier is better, it should be as close as possible to the source of the sound barrier or the reception point.
